Obituary

Winklet May DaCosta, born on October 13, 1946, in St. Mary, Jamaica, departed this world on September 9, 2023, in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, surrounded by her loving family. Winklet's passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but her memory will forever shine brightly in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

Winklet was a vibrant and loving woman whose life was dedicated to her family and friends. She was a remarkable mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, always offering a helping hand and a listening ear to those in need. Her generous spirit and warm heart touched the lives of many.

A strong and independent woman, Winklet was passionate about life. She found joy in music and dancing, and her presence was a source of happiness at gatherings. Her culinary skills were legendary, as no one ever left her home hungry. Winklet's legacy of delicious meals and warm hospitality will be treasured by all who shared her table.

Winklet's kindness, generosity, and love for life will forever be etched in the memories of those she leaves behind. Her legacy lives on in her children: Christopher, Jerry, Deon, Berthland, and Donna, and in her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren: Lisa, Christine, Jerdon, Jermaine, Thianna, Tanysha, Berthland Jr., Shemeah, Patricia, Latisa, Jyllian, Dylan, Emma, Etienne Chance and Marcin.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Winklet's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or a charity of your choice. Your support will help continue the spirit of compassion and care that Winklet embodied throughout her life.

Winklet May DaCosta will be deeply missed, but her love and memories will remain alive in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.

Visitation will be held on Saturday September 30, 2023 at St. Bartholomew's United Church, 22 Abbey Road, Brampton commencing at 10 am with a funeral service to follow at 11 am.  Interment to follow the service.

A Celebration of Life for Winklet DaCosta will then be held September 30th at 4pm at the Doggpound MMA, 40B Hansen Rd S, Brampton, ON L6W 3H4
