It is with unbearable sadness that Bill and I announce the death of our son Wilson Francis Reading, at 18 years of age, on Sunday January 15th. Media coverage of his accidental death has not been accurate so the following will provide clarity.
Wilson was on an island called Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands. He was hiking with our friends Moira and Ken and their daughter Allison and our friend Valdy. They were looking for the scenic "bubbly pool" and Wilson, Moira and Valdy were pausing to look into a crevasse that faced the ocean. Wilson and Moira were sitting a few feet apart ( a few feet from the edge of the crevasse) and Valdy was standing behind them. None of them had a camera or a phone. They were just admiring another of Mother Nature's wonders. The rock slab that Wilson was sitting on gave way and there was nothing anyone could do. He was gone instantly.
