Wilma Visschedyk, born on October 22, 1919, in Twello, Netherlands, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2018 at West Oak Village in Oakville. Married in 1947, Wilma is reunited with her beloved husband, Frank (passed away February 21, 2001). Strong and devoted Mother of John, Ria (Robert), Paul (Dianne), Liz (Maury), Mike (Gail). Loving grandmother to David, Mark (Audrey), Nicole, Maureen (Garrett), Danielle (Chris), Nadine (Ted), Christine, Kevin and Jacob. Proud great grandmother to Breccan, Bronte, Isla and Annika. She will be lovingly remembered by many in Canada, the Netherlands, Belgium and Australia for being a dedicated mother, sister, aunt and faithful friend. As founding members of Saint Dominic Parish in Oakville, Wilma and Frank lived out their faith through their family, friends, church and their Oakville community where they lived for over 66 years. Wilma's family would like express their sincere appreciation to all the Staff at West Oak Village Long Term Care Facility for their loving care and compassion throughout the past 11 years as well as the dedicated team of Volunteers from St Matthew Parish in Oakville. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Saint Dominic Catholic Church, 2415 Rebecca Street, Oakville, followed by a reception in the parish centre and then interment at St. Jude's Cemetery.
