William Bertram Hall, a true gentleman of his time whose dignity and integrity were admired by all, passed on Sunday, July 4, 2010. Bill was born in Peterborough, Ontario on November 5, 1923. Bill was married happily to Jeannie Drummond Sharp for 62 incredible years, settling arguments through laughter, building a family with love and working as a team through Bill's long career in Canada and overseas. He was a loving father to three sons and two grandchildren: Richard Hall of Kamloops, BC. (wife Gloria, children Chris and Erin), Gordon Hall of Elmvale, ON (wife Penny), Robert Hall of Oakville, ON. William graduated from University of Toronto in Electrical Engineering in 1945. He had an illustrious career including long term affiliations with several major firms. He worked with Abitibi Power and Paper as a resident electrical and hydraulic engineer in Iroquois Falls, Ontario starting in 1949. He was CEO of Canadian Porcelain in Hamilton Ontario and President of Maloney Electric. Most recently he was Managing Director of Cutler Hammer and Vice-President of Eaton Yale Canada. Active socially with Jeannie, he enjoyed the company and maintained connections with many friends all over the world, met through University, work, Barbados and India. He was predeceased by his parents and only sibling, brother Hudson in 1999 and sister-in-law Margaret in 1983. A short service for immediate family was held and interment of the remains will take place at Peterborough sometime in the future. Friends are asked to please sign the guest book. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honour Bill's memory may make donations to Community Living, 301 Wyecroft Road, Oakville, ON L6K 2H2.
