We are saddened to announce the passing of William (Bill) Duncan.  Bill passed suddenly on March 27, 2025 after a short illness.

William Wallace Duncan was born in Glasgow, Scotland on February 10, 1941 to Sarah and John Duncan.

After working and studying speech and elocution, Bill moved to Canada in the early 1960's.  Shortly after arriving in Canada Bill met and married Dagmar Duncan (nee Westermann), and over the course of their almost 60 year marriage the couple raised 3 children.

A dedicated member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Bill loved the church community and was active in the choir.  He remained steadfast in his faith throughout his life.

Predeceased by his wife Dagmar and brothers Alexander and Jack, Bill is survived by his sisters Jean and Elizabeth, brother Joe, and children Herman (Roberta), Marion (Tim), Andrea (Mohsan), as well as 5 grandchildren – Max, Toby, Sabina, Alexandrea and Ava.

Bill had interests ranging from tennis to theatre, and was an avid reader.  Witty and charming, with an acerbic sense of humour, Bill is dearly missed by family and friends.

Those wishing to pay their respects are invited to attend Knox Presbyterian Church located at 89 Dunn St, Oakville on April 28, 2025 at 11am.
