Passing peacefully after a long battle at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on January 23, 2022, he will be sadly missed by his lovingly devoted wife of 68 years, Sylvia; his children Catherine (Brian), Christopher (Alice), and Scott (Jodi); his beloved grandchildren Megan (Jarret), Matthew (Amanda), Jonathan, Devin (Melissa); and his adoring great grandchildren Chelsea, Blake, Nash, Brooke, Brynley & Cavan. Predeceased by his granddaughter, Kristen.

Walter was born in Toronto, where he had a long & distinguished career with the Toronto Police Service, retiring as Deputy Chief, Field Command, in February 1993 after 38 years service.  He was an extremely dedicated officer serving in numerous positions including a 12 year stint in the Homicide Squad, two of which he was in command.  Throughout his life, he was always all about family and was our generous, thoughtful and loving "Papa".

A Celebration of Life to honour him will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home on Saturday April 30,2022 at 1 pm.
