IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Vic
Holden
October 2, 1940 – January 30, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vic Holden in his 81 st year. Loving husband of the late Anne and father to Laurence and Simon.
Vic was born in Birmingham England and is the eldest of six. He is survived by his sister Pam (England) and his brothers and sisters in law Keith (and Pat in New Zealand), Peter (and Angela in England), Terry (and Sue in Canada), and Trevor (England). He will also be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews around the world.
Vic came to Canada in 1969 and took up employment with Pratt & Whitney Canada as an engineer in the Test and Facilities departments before moving to the Projects organization where he remained until his retirement as a Project Manager in 2003. Vic has many friends and fond memories from those 30+ years
Vic will be remembered with thanks for the very significant contribution he made to the PWC Toronto retirees club following his retirement where he served in many board positions and for the presentations he made on his trips around the world.
Vic was an avid and accomplished sportsman his entire life playing football (soccer) and cricket in his youth before finding his passion in golf. In Montreal Vic also captained a team in the Basement Darts League and was one of the best players in the tournaments.
He will also be gratefully remembered by colleagues in both Toronto and Montreal for his involvement and organisation of the annual golf excursion to Jekyll Island in Georgia. He will be sadly missed by the Tuesday and Friday golf groups with whom he shared many rounds of memorable golf and celebrations at the nineteenth!
Vic loved to travel and dedicated much of his retirement years to exploring new, and familiar parts of the globe.
He lived life to the fullest until very near the end and for that we are thankful.
A very special thanks to all the staff at Amica Bronte Harbour where Vic lived for the last eight months. Initially hesitant to make the move from his condo he was welcomed like family and enjoyed his time there immensely. We would also like to thank the wonderful, caring staff at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for providing the utmost of care under incredibly difficult circumstances during the last month of his life.
A visitation will be held on Monday February 7 th at Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home on Lakeshore Rd. in Oakville between 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
Due to COVID protocols attendance at the visitation is by appointment. Sign up here: Vic Holden Visitation Sign Up
A further memorial service will be held in the warmer months when we can all gather together to celebrate his life.
In memory of Vic, we ask that you don't send flowers but instead make a donation to either The Canadian Cancer Society or the Anne Holden Memorial Scholarship at U of T Erindale .
