Passed away on February 16, 2015 in her 82
nd
year surrounded by family. Veronica was born in Poland, now Belarus, in 1932. During the war and post war years her family was moved from country to country: France, Italy, Siberia, India, Pakistan and her most cherished and memorable, Kenya. In 1950 Veronica came to Canada through Pier 21 in Halifax. She settled in Guelph with her sister (Janina), brother (John) and mother (Elizabeth). Her brother Joe moved to the US. Soon after she met Walter, they married and moved to Toronto. As many new immigrants through hard work they made a good life in their new homeland for themselves and their three children, Chet, Sylvia (husband John) and Lisa (husband Lee). In time they moved to Oakville. Having the kindest, most generous and gentlest of hearts, her home was open to everyone. There was always laughter, friends, family, food and good times. Veronica was a dedicated caregiver to Walter, who suffered from MS, for 40 years. Walter passed away 10 years ago and Veronica's boundless energy was focussed on her grandchildren, Steven, Sarah, Kristie, Holly and Renee. As her Alzheimer's progressed she moved to Kensington Gardens where she ended her journey. We want to thank the staff at Kensington for all their compassion and dedication. In lieu of flowers donations in memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Society or Kensington Foundation. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville. A funeral mass will follow on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 11:
00 a.m. at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 231 Morden Road, Oakville.
