IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Trish
Woodburn
May 19, 1946 – January 25, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our wonderful Trish Woodburn (nee Coates); wife, Mum, Mama, sister, daughter, aunt, friend. On Saturday January 25th, just after 8pm, she passed through the thin veil between life and death, held at the time by her loving husband and children. As devastated as we are, we feel blessed that all of her children and grandchildren had an opportunity to express their love and goodbyes with her on Friday.
Trish was born May 19, 1946 in Toronto, Ontario where she grew up and married the love of her life, Carmen. Together they raised three children in Bolton, before living in Palgrave and finally, Oakville.
Throughout her life, Trish exhibited an adventurous spirit. She travelled to many countries, including Greenland, Fiji, Australia, France, Austria, and Ireland. She enjoyed cross country skiing, scuba diving, parasailing, bike riding and cliff jumping - even in her 70's! She was also defined by her extraordinary determination and will to live, even though she faced and overcame more health issues than a person should have to. Her personal motto "Believe" represented her passion for life and conviction that she would overcome any challenge and obstacle in her way. Those who knew her, knew she did. This strength, along with her kindness, generosity, compassion, and humour have become part of her legacy.
Trish is survived by her loving husband Carmen, their children Rebecca, Tim and wife Sara, Oliver and wife Vanessa. She has five awesome grandchildren, Galen, Noah, Madeleine, Ivy and Evelyn. Her parents Joe and Mabel predeceased her, as did her brothers Derek and Dave. She is survived by her sister Sheila.
Family, friends and colleagues are invited to a visitation on Tuesday January 28th from 6:00-8:00pm at Kopriva-Taylor Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd. W, Oakville, ON, L6K 1E1.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday January 30th at 11:00am followed by light refreshments, at St. Simon's Anglican Church, 1450 Litchfield Rd., Oakville. We will celebrate her life and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
The family would like to express gratitude to the nurses and doctors at the Oakville Hospital Intensive Care Unit for their immense compassion and skilled care. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to St. Simon's Anglican Church or Oakville Hospital Foundation.
She is already greatly missed and in our hearts always.
