Passed away peacefully at the age of 90 in Oakville on Saturday, February 13, 2016. Born May 26, 1925 in Birtley County Durham, England. Beloved husband of Joan for 64 years. Loving Dad to Christine (Danny), Helen (Joel), Joanna (Gordon) and Kate. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Sarah (Sonny), Simon, Timothy, Dylan, Natasha, Nicholas, Emma and great-grandson Teddy. Towards the end of the second world war Tom trained in Canada as a member of the British Fleet Air Arm. Canada left a lasting impression on Tom so much so that he, Joan and the girls all emigrated here in 1968. Tom trained as an engineer and later started his own import brokerage. Tom loved to travel and during the latter part of his career he and Joan travelled the world extensively. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 10:00 am at Saint Dominic Catholic Church, 2415 Rebecca St., Oakville. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
