Son of the late Harry and Gladys Irwin.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Doug Irwin, beloved husband (27 years) of Elizabeth "Liz" Cook. Cherished father of Michael Irwin (Marianne). Loving brother to Dale Irwin. Proud Poppa of Shelby McIlwraith and Tyler Cook. Fondly remembered by Jennifer, John McIlwraith, Jeff (Sharon Cook), Al (Rose Proulx), Ken (Teresa Proulx), Marie (Jim Emery). He will be sadly missed by numerous friends. Doug was a teacher with the Halton Board of Education for over 30 years and also operated a landscaping company in Oakville which brought him much joy. At Doug's request, a private family service was held at Kopriva Taylor followed by cremation. A celebration of Doug's life will be held at a date to be announced. Memorial donations to Ian Anderson House Oakville would be appreciated. A special thank you to Doctor Annis, Doctor Lynne Benjamin and the exceptional caring staff and volunteers of Ian Anderson House.
