It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eldon Dolphin on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at the age of 81, beloved husband of Phemia. Eldon was originally from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and graduated as a Civil Engineer from the University of Saskatchewan. He enjoyed a successful career of 40 years at the Canadian National Railroad where he managed many projects across Canada and around the world. He was also the Project Manager during the CN Tower construction and became the first President and CEO of CN Tower Limited on its opening. Loving and devoted father of Gary (Anita), Les, Cathy (Phil), and Laura (Craig). Precious grandfather of Jason, Mark, Kevin, Nick, Alex, Chelsea, Jared, Rhianne, Heather and Matt. Great grandfather to Jaden, Mason, Tyler and Jackson. Dear brother of Bob Dolphin and family of Langley, B.C. Eldon had an incredible influence on all who knew him, his deep love of family, friends, travel, music, and great sense of humour will be missed by all. Family and friends will be received at Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville, (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) on Saturday, April 4 from 2 pm - 4 pm and 7 pm - 9 pm. A memorial service will take place at Hopedale Presbyterian Church, 156 Third Line, Oakville, on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Canadian Cancer Society.
