At the age of 87, after battling cancer for a few years and suffering numerous strokes, Tessa passed away on a wintery January morning. Tessa was the beloved mother to Julie and grandmother to Callum and Ben.

Tessa was born and raised in Wirksworth, Derbyshire, England. She married her great love, Ian Chalmers, who unfortunately passed away far too young. She then packed her British life up and emigrated to Canada to be with Julie and family just as her first grandchild was born. She settled happily in Oakville, Ontario, loving her new role as grandmother to her greatest joys, her grandsons. She became immersed in volunteering at the local theatre and was also heavily involved with her church, St. Aidan's, making many new close friends. Tessa was awarded the Order of Niagara in 2021 for her dedication to helping the seniors at her church.

Tessa's legacy will carry on through the hearts of all whom she touched. We will smile and remember her either holding a bunch of flowers or a cream cake, two of her favourite things. A funeral service will be held at St. Aidan's Church in Oakville at 11am on Monday, January 20th. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to the church.
