Obituary

Born Lesko, Poland Oct 7, 1927

As young girl in Poland she was kidnapped by the Germans and was taken to Austria to work of a labor farm. 1940 when WWII broke out, she was transported by train, which ended up in a tunnel which was being gassed by the enemies. She escaped and the Polish army evacuated her to Italy. She than worked as a nurse with the Polish army, and after a short while she made her way to England. In England she worked again as a nurse caring for wounded soldiers. At this time she met her husband Henry got married. They immigrated to Canada late 50,s settled in Montreal and after 2 years moved to Toronto. Than moved to Oakville where she worked at Long manufacturing on Kerr St than worked for GE in Oakville where she ultimately retired. She worked there along with Henry for about 36yrs. Lived in Oakville most of their lives. She also cared for Henry's mother who also migrated to Canada in 1964.

She loved her gardening, crazy about flowers. She was an avid fisherman especially always going to Burleigh Falls. In 1964 she adopted Mark whom she sponsored to Canada, who has been with her to this day.

She was a member in good standing with the Oakville Legion.

She also frequently travelled back to Poland to visit her family.

Henry her husband passed away in 2007, and she and Mark have lived together ever since.

Visitation will be held Sunday July 20, 2021 from 6 to 8 pm.  Funeral Mass Monday July 21, 2021 from St. Anthony's Parish at 11am.  Interment Trafalger Lawn Cemetery.
