Obituary
Ted Broadbent, 87, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 5, 2023 in Grimsby, Ontario. Ted was born in Hamilton, Ontario on January 28, 1936. Ted was predeceased by his parents George & Lillian Broadbent and sister Doreen Smith. Ted also has two siblings Carole (Jim) Bennett and Dave Broadbent.
On October 20, 1956 Ted married the love of his life Marg Griffiths, having spent 67 loving years together. His career began at Oakville Furniture and Cycle followed shortly by owning Milton Furniture. After moving to California in 1964 he began his new career as an independent distributor at Foremost Dairies. Coming back to Canada in 1969 he worked at Allstate Insurance for over 30 years. Ted lived in Milton, Oakville, Orange County, Burlington, and most recently Grimsby. He thoroughly enjoyed badminton, boating, and RVing.
Ted is survived by his wife Marg, children Terry (Wendy) Broadbent, Suzanne (Steve) Rilett, grandchildren Taylor (Paula) Broadbent, Carly (Scott) Broadbent, Kyle (Jessica) Rilett, Connor (Amber) Rilett, and four great-granddaughters Chloe & Maggie Broadbent, Remilynn & Lilian Rilett, and best buddy Charlie (Dog).
Visitation and service will be held on Wednesday May 10, 2023 at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home located at 64 Lakeshore Road West in Oakville. Visitation will be held at 11:00am followed by a Service at 12:00pm and celebration of life at 12:30pm. Donations can be made to the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.
