On Wednesday, August 29th, 2018, Swany (age 86)  died peacefully at Albright Manor, Beamsville, Ontario. She now joins her husband John Devries and daughter Jeanette. She is survived by her loving daughter Cynthia and husband Richard Wodabek and granddaughters Alyssa and Brianna Wodabek. As well as her sisters Saakje and Janny who will carry on her memory in her birthplace, The Netherlands. The family will receive friends at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block East of Kerr Street) on Friday September 7, 2018 from 10 am with a funeral service to follow in the Chapel at 11 am. Interment St. Judes Cemetery. Any donations can be made to The Alzheimer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation .
