IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Susan Janet
Hutchison
September 28, 1945 – March 10, 2025
Our family is so deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved wife, mom, mother-in-law, Gaga and friend, Susie Hutchison (nee Pattison), at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on Monday, March 10th. Susie fought a brief battle with ALS with dignity and uncommon grace.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, David, much loved children, Amy (Randy Morassut) and Mark (Andrea Bannister) and her adored grandchildren, Maddie, Gabriel and Nathaniel Morassut and Sawyer, Charlotte and Elliot Hutchison. Also mourning Susie are her brother, John Pattison and family, cousin Jane Campbell, David's loving brothers and sisters and families, and her many friends in the GTA and on Grand Manan, NB, her island home she considered a slice of heaven.
Susie's family, friends, home and cottage, Salt Winds, were her domain. She took pride in making everything beautiful, warm and welcoming. Susie nurtured so many friendships from the many activities she enjoyed: cross country skiing, tennis, watercolour painting classes, baking, working at The Harvest Kitchen downtown Oakville for more than 20 years, cottage visits and karaoke, reading and sharing books, biking on the beach on Hilton Head Island, dinners with friends and family, celebrations with great style, and travelling. Susie and Dave were lucky to explore so much of Canada and Europe with friends and family. They visited many European countries, but returned to their favourites many times: England, Italy and France.
Susie's greatest joy in life was family. We are all so very privileged to have known unconditional love and support. Her six treasured grandchildren were each blessed by the love, joy, talks and laughter she shared with them.
Heartfelt thanks to the Cornwall Road, Oakville EMS staff; the Emergency and Palliative Care staff at O.T.M.H and Dr. R Van Strallen. If desired, donations can be made to the Oakville Hospital Foundation, in honour of Susie's memory.
Visitation will be held at Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home Oakville on Friday March 21 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:30 - 8:30 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Cuthbert's Anglican Church, Oakville on Saturday, March 22 at 11:00 am, with reception to follow.
