With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Stratigo  (Toula) Antonakos (Oakville, Ontario), who passed away peacefully on June 18, 2024, at the age of 86 with her family by her side at the Village of Tansley Woods LTC home in Burlington.

Affectionately referred to as 'Yiayia", Stratigo was loved and cherished by many people including her late husband Stefanos, her children, Tony (Aliki) and John (Maria); her siblings, nieces, nephews and her adoring grandchildren, Kristin, Stefan, Anthony and Jenna.

Remembered as one of the originals at the iconic and historic Bill's Deli, Cozy Corner and Hearthside Restaurant on Dunn Street in Oakville, Stratigo was born on March 12, 1938, in Trapezanti, Sparta, Greece.

Visitation will be held at Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd W, Oakville on Wednesday June 19, 2024, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church on Thursday June 20th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St Volodymyr Ukrainian Cemetery, 1280 Dundas St W, Oakville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Patty's Place , Dementia Care Centre, Acclaim Health. Yiayia and the family wishes to acknowledge and thank Jessica, Sarah, Ester, Heather, Maria and all the loving PSWs, nurses and staff at Tansley Woods for their exemplary compassion and care.
