Passed away at the age of 75, after a long and determined fight to squeeze every moment out of all the good things life had to offer. He will always be loved and never forgotten by his spouse Carolyn Kinsman and son Andrew Kanyar. Steve-Pisti "the middle aged cousin" has a special place in the hearts of both Kris Csermely and Peter Csermely. Steve came to Canada on his own at age 19 from Hungary in 1957. He committed to become the best Canadian he could be at a time when they handed you $5.00 and pointed you to the unemployment office. He rose from the position of donut store dishwasher to achieve his boyhood dream to become a pilot. He learned and then instructed at the Toronto Island Airport then left to fly for E.P. Taylor during the "Northern Dancer" years before flying commercial for Nordair and Canadian Airlines. He finished his career with TransCanada Pipelines, Bank of Nova Scotia and Magna International. Crowning goals in retirement included boating to the Bahamas from Oakville and throwing the first pitch at Blue Jays Spring Training against the Boston Red Sox. Always one to leave things tidy he completed his Christmas shopping two weeks prior to his death. Cremation has taken place. A memorial celebration will be held in the spring at a local pub.
