STEPHEN CHARLES GOODRICH (“STEVE”)
(1956-2026)
Stephen Charles Goodrich (“Steve”), 70, of Oakville, Ontario, passed away at home on October 3, 2026.
Steve was born in Evanston, Illinois on July 19, 1956, to Andrew Latimer Goodrich and Alice Ann Barnes Goodrich. His family moved to Canada in 1959, and Steve attended elementary and secondary schools in the Oakville area.
Steve earned his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Guelph in 1980. After graduation, he began his career in restaurant franchising before moving to Bay Street in 1982. He went on to become a successful broker and investment banker, working in the industry until 1996.
In late 1996, Steve’s love of spicy food inspired him to start his own small business importing and distributing hot sauces. He owned and operated the company until 2012. Steve took great pride in building the business and enjoyed the independence, challenges, and relationships that came with being an entrepreneur.
Outside of work, Steve had a passion for sports and particularly enjoyed skiing, golfing, biking, squash, and pickleball. Through these activities, he forged many lasting friendships. He also had a deep love of music and enjoyed playing his guitar for family and friends.
Giving back to his community was important to Steve. He participated in charitable events and generously supported many local organizations, including the Oakville Hospital Foundation.
Steve was deeply loved by his family. He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey (wife Lucienne and their children Ren and Nico) and Zachary; his younger brother, John, and his wife, Judith, and their children, Anne, Katherine, John, Daniel, and Elizabeth; and his former wife, Joanne. He was predeceased by his older brother Elessar Merlyn Tetramariner.
Steve will be dearly missed by his friends, including Rebecca Prior and Angela Gardner.
Steve will be cremated. Visitation will be held on Friday October 23, 2026 at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm, followed by a private family burial at St. Jude’s Cemetery in Oakville.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Steve may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Oakville Hospital Foundation.
Steve touched the lives of many through his family, friendships, and the passions he pursued throughout his life. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
May he rest in peace.
