IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stephen
Dacko
January 10, 1952 – February 24, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Stephen Dacko, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, on February 24th, 2025.
Born on January 10th, 1952, in Rochdale, England, Stephen was the beloved husband of the late Maria Dacko for 51 wonderful years. He was a devoted son to Wasyl and Kateryna Dacko and a caring brother to Wolodymyr, Iwan, and Maria. Stephen is lovingly remembered by his three children: Michael, Adrian, and Larissa, and was a proud and devoted grandfather to four grandchildren: Catherine, Constantine, Andrew, and Helena.
Stephen was a pillar of his community, especially within St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, where he worked closely with administration as well as the church choir. He was also a dedicated member of the Canadian Bandurist Capella, contributing both as a singer and a member of the choir leadership. Even in his later years, when health issues prevented him from active participation, Stephen remained connected to the community he loved.
As we honor the life of Stephen Dacko, let us celebrate the joy, love, and compassion he brought to his family and all who knew him. His memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration.
Visitation will be held on Thursday February 27, at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville, (one block East of Kerr Street) from 6 pm - 8 pm.
