It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of a great man Stephen George Buckland. (June 21, 1933 to March 25, 2015. Born Sydney (N.S.) He found his greatest happiness in what he could do for others in various clubs and charities. Stephen, beloved son of Louis and Helen Buckland, survived by his sister Theresa and brothers Vince and Gordon, predeceased by sister Louise, brothers Louis and William. He will be sadly missed by his children Stephen, Terry (Cathy), Paul, Mark, and Adam and predeceased by son Donald (Carolyn) in 2008 a devastating loss to our family. Stephen was a loving grandfather to 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Stephen worked at Whitehall Laboratories in Mississauga for 47 years. He was a devoted parishioner at St. Dominic's since 1958. Stephen was a volunteer and president of Minor Oaks Hockey Association, optimist club and Canadian International Traffic League. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) from 9-11am Thursday, March 26, 2015. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Dominic Catholic Church, 2415 Rebecca Street, Oakville on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 10 am. Memorial donations can be made to Parkinson Society Canada or Alzheimer Society of Canada.
