Obituary

REID: Stanley Corson
It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Stanley Corson Reid on Thursday, January 18, 2007. Stanley passed away peacefully at Ian Anderson House surrounded by his family after a lengthy and valiant battle with cancer. He was in his 74th year. Stan was C.E.O. of Oakville Customs Brokerage, a company he founded 30 years ago. Stan was an active member of St. Dominic Church, the community of Oakville and the brokerage industry. Stan served 2 terms as Chairman of the Oakville Harbours Commission and served with distinction for many years on the board of the Oakville Chamber of Commerce. Stan was most at home by the water, whether on his boat, by the pool or diving, no suit, no tie, just friends, the water and a cold one. Stan was a generous supporter of the United Way, the Salvation Army and numerous other charities. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Inez and his four children: Susan (Ron), Christopher (Kiko), Andrea (John) and Peter (Julia) as well as 10 loving grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ian Anderson House, Covenant House or the Canadian Cancer Society. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600), Oakville from 2-4 Saturday and 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Dominic Church, 2415 Rebecca Street, Oakville on Monday, January 22, 2007 at 12 Noon. Cremation.
