Obituary
On May 30, 2021, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, dear aunt and friend moved on from this life to a new adventure. She lived a long and happy life, fought a good fight, kept the faith and finished the race. Sircula has been known for her beautiful and catching smile, as well as the spark in her eye; a loving, kind and always giving Lady. Truly a Blessing of God.
Her warm heart came through to many family members and friends, as she opened her home to all and nurtured many. A mother to so many that had no family here, treating all as her own, making them a part of a family. Sircula was born in Goa in 1931 and thereafter spent many years in Nairobi, Kenya, where she met the love of her life, Batu (Bartholomew). In 1953, they were married and January 2021 celebrated 68 years of marriage. In June 1971(50 years this month), for the future of their 4 girls, Batu and Sircula made their way to Canada, where they continued their lives. As difficult a time as they had finding work and starting all over again, every thing gradually fell into place for them. The good Lord blessed her with special gifts which include being an amazing cook and an excellent seamstress. Many friends and family went over on Fridays to enjoy her tasty fish curries and rice. She loved stitching clothes and did so for all her daughters and extended to requests of friends whether here or to those still in Nairobi. This included bridesmaids' dresses with all the accessories, wedding dresses, christening gowns for the grandchildren. She also loved to knit and made tons of sweaters, booties, and caps for everyone. Mum was good at playing scrabble, even until a few weeks ago, was still beating us and proud of it too. Of course, she did try to get away with making up some of her own words, with that twinkle in her eye, enjoying a good challenge. She enjoys playing card games and years ago she, together with Aunty Mac (her sister), were famous for cheating at Trook. She has left behind her husband, Batu, her 4 daughters, Marilyn/Roy, Audrey/Chris, Suzie/Steve and Abigail/Cass, 16 grandchildren Tamara (Keith), Tania (Frank), Gary, Greg (Estelle), Ryan (Danielle), Sacha-Rae, Andrew (Daphne) Alisha (Ali), Micah, Craig, Devohn, Jonathan, Ashley, Chelcie, Ayden, Jada Mae and 12 great grandchildren, Zoë, Kingston, Olyvia, Alahna, Quintyn, Maggie, Billy, Charlotte, Emma Rose, Jacob, Wesley and Elliot.
She was our rock. She made a difference in all our lives and had a great impact on each and every one of us. She will forever be in our hearts and will be terribly missed by all that knew her, especially her family. May our sweet Sircula, Mum, Mumsie, Aunty Sircula/Chicoo eternally rest in peace.
We will ALWAYS LOVE YOU.
We request donations to your Favourite or Most needed charity in honour of Mum.
