With profound sadness we announce the passing of Shirley Judith Johnson (McDonald) on February 5, 2025 at age 65.

Predeceased by her loving husband Kalin Johnson, and survived by her children Tanner Johnson (Nataliya), Kris Johnson (Rose), Kourtney Johnson (Rob), Karson Johnson (Molly) and grandchildren, Austin, Gavin, Kaiden, Kalin, Taylor, Danylo, Karolina, Milena, and Matei.

Loved by her siblings Ann Wright (Jim), Lynne Sweeting (Rick), Bruce McDonald, Jane McDonald (Paul) and Sandra Lochead (Peter) and her sister-in-law Kathy Wilson.

She was the founder of Catered Fare, a well-known local catering company active for over thirty years, and was honoured two times as Oakville's "Entrepreneur of the Year". She was heavily involved in numerous charitable and community endeavours. She also revitalized the food and hospitality programme at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Hamilton and Burlington.

Shirley loved Halloween, tennis, running, and was an avid reader.  She loved dressing up for special occasions, and gathering her family to enjoy time and special food together in a warm and welcoming environment. Hospitality connected her professional life to her personal life, and her family, friends, and clients were fortunate to enjoy her finely developed skills as a chef honed over her long career.

Her life demonstrated the value of hard work, sacrificing for others, and the importance of family.

In Shirley's memory, the family asks donations be made to Halton Women's Place.

A private family service will be held in the spring.
