IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sheryn Carol
Lepine
November 8, 1946 – January 17, 2024
It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our loving mother, grandmother, and dear friend to many.
Sheryn passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Oakville on January 17, 2024. She was 77 years young and will be greatly missed by her daughters Carrie (Tony), and Erin (Dean) and her grandson Jonah and granddaughter Alyssa.
Sheryn grew up in Montreal, Quebec and was the only child of Albert and Edna Lepine. She attended Rosemount High School and a few years after graduation moved to Ontario in March of 1970, where she lived in Scarborough, Mississauga, and finally Oakville.
Sheryn worked in accounting and finance for many well-known organizations such a Canada Systems Group (CSG), Royal Trust/Royal Bank, Gentra, Catholic Charities and most recently the Archdiocese of Toronto where she retired at the age of 71.
Our Mom shared a passion for travel with her best friend Michele. They visited many destinations around the world including Barbados, Mexico, Costa Rica, many European destinations via a riverboat cruise, and most recently an adventure to the UK. Erin, Dean, Jonah and Alyssa were also fortunate enough to have Grandma join them on several trips to Orlando, Florida over the years - this was cherished "grandma time" as the grandkids grew up.
Equally cherished were countless lunches (special bonding time), Carrie and mom shared with one another, which were often followed by many laughs while attending an afternoon matinee at the local cinema.
Spending time with close friends in the neighborhood was also a favourite pastime. You could often find mom cooking/baking in her kitchen for her dear friends Jane and Bill, as well as attending neighborhood ladies' luncheons.
Our mom had a passion for the outdoors and all things that bloom. In fact, neighbourhood friends would often stop by to admire Sheryn's beautiful gardens (front and back) and seek her gardening advice. She also enjoyed keeping active while taking long nature walks with her Cairn Terrier Sam, as well as helping out and walking Percy around Erin and Dean's Neighborhood.
The love of the outdoors continued when our mother stroke one more item off her bucket list, the purchase of her quaint and beautiful cottage in Selkirk. It was there that she met more friends leading up to her retirement. She enjoyed taking Sam for long walks along the beach, and meeting and gaining new friendships from all those who lived in the surrounding area. When the weather turned cold out, our mom's passion continued as she had a knack for beautifying the indoors. Her keen eye for decorating that was noted by all whom she shared her beautiful home with.
Our mother was so caring, inspiring, strong and supportive. As we try to come to grips with how and why our healthy, vibrant and active mom slipped away too soon… we find comfort in these words: "We love you mom", "We love you grandma".
We ask that all of you who were fortunate enough to have known our mom, to please hold your precious memories of her close to your heart forever.
