Obituary

Sharon Kay Paris, of St. Catharines, ON passed away unexpectedly of heart failure on June 6, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on October 23, 1961, Sharon grew up in Oakville, ON. She was predeceased by her mother, Joan Paris, and her good friend, Captain Bill. She is lovingly remembered by her sisters, Carol Budd (Terry) and Diane Wolstenholme (Allan); her nieces and nephew, Shelley Budd (Nuno DiSilva), Jeffrey Budd (Christina), and Emily Wolstenholme; her great-nieces, Charlotte, Brooke, Marlo, and Chloe Budd; and her very caring longtime friend, Jeff Leyland.

Sharon earned her degree in the Equine Studies Program at Humber College and spent many years caring for horses, including the renowned Big Ben. Her love of animals remained a constant throughout her life. She often took in stray or injured animals and, more recently, devoted her time to fostering animals with Don’t Furry, Be Happy Animal Rescue. Later in life, Sharon returned to school at Niagara College to study Public Relations, making a significant career change. She went on to serve for 22 years with Summit Housing & Outreach Programs, where she was known as a caring and compassionate person who was deeply appreciated by the many clients she helped.

An avid sailor, Sharon was a member of the Port Dalhousie Yacht Club and spent many happy hours on Lake Ontario with her friend Jeff and her dog, Kitta. Sharon fought many battles throughout her life and faced them all with strength and good humour. Her sudden passing has brought deep sadness to all who knew and loved her, and she will be missed very much.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Summit Housing & Outreach Programs or to a local Humane Society.
