LAMONT, Sandra Frances (nee Murphy) – Passed away, peacefully, at Oakville Hospital on July 14, 2019. Predeceased by her loving and devoted husband of 40 years, Raymond, she was the loving mother of Jeffery (Colleen) and Steven (Lindsay), and cherished Gramma to Jack, Harry and Bridget. Sandra will be remembered fondly by her brothers, nieces, nephews, friends, family and everyone else who crossed her path.

Sandra always had a thirst for knowledge and a desire to share and encourage learning with others. Teaching for several years before taking time off to raise her boys, she returned to the profession late in life and continued to teach until the very end. She was an extremely caring and compassionate person who always found the good in others and she was always willing to help those in need; no matter how long she may have known them.

Through the years, Sandra's strong faith in God lead her in many ways. She was very involved with St Michael's Church and more recently St Matthew's Church. Whether it was during her time as CWL President, organizing church picnics and fundraising events, being a lecturer and eucharistic minister or just having a priest over to the house for dinner, Sandra felt a strong desire to help.

As a Mom and as a Gramma, Sandra was always there to impart wisdom, to support and to help guide her family in faith. When able, Sandra could always be found in the stands of one of her boys games/events and more recently those of her grandchildren.

We would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, especially those in the ER, ICU and the palliative care units. They did so much to make her last couple of weeks as comfortable as possible.

A celebration of Sandra's life will be held at St. Matthew's Parish in Oakville on Monday, July 22, 2019 at 11am. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 21 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd W. (one block East of Kerr Street, 905-844-2600). In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Oakville Hospital Foundation .
