Obituary

With sadness but appreciation for a long life, well lived, the family of Samuel (Sam) Muller announce his passing at Ian Anderson House in Oakville, Ontario on December 19, 2022. Sam is predeceased by his beloved wife of 59 years, Betty (2014).  He will be sorely missed by his daughters and son-in-laws, Annette (Stan) Godziek and Carol (Rick) Vesters.

Sam was born in a small village in Switzerland on March 10, 1925.  He apprenticed to become an upholsterer and briefly worked in Denmark. From there, he made his way to Oakville in 1952 to start his upholstery business.  Betty joined him in Canada 2 years later and they were married in 1954.

After a few years, together they grew the business into a successful furniture store, Swiss Interiors, which he was incredibly proud of.

Sam spent the past 4 years living at The Kensington Retirement Residence, where he made friends, and was particularly fond of carpet Bowling and walks to the lake.

The family extends their sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone at Ian Anderson House, The Kensington Retirement home, and Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for compassionate care.

Arrangements are under the care of Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home, Oakville.   Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 22 from 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 87 Dunn Street, Oakville on Friday December 23, at 11 am, followed by burial at Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery at 2 pm.
