It is with deep sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of Sabatina Pece, with family at her side on May 8 ^th at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital.  Beloved wife of the late Vincenzo Pece (2020) and loving mother of Carmela (Wayne), Connie (Bruce) and Daniele (Jacquie).   Also greatly missed by her grandchildren Matthew, Natalee, Jason, Ryan, Sarah and Nolan, as well as several great grandchildren and extended family.  Predeceased by her parents Filomena and Salvatore Santoro, sisters Giuseppina (Carmine) and Mariangela (Matteo), and brother Francesco (Rolanda).

Sabatina and Vincenzo emigrated from Avellino Italy, initially settling in Toronto for a few years and then moving to Oakville to raise their family.   Never one to stay idle, Sabatina initially found employment at The Oakville Basket Factory and then The Country Squire Restaurant before finding her true calling as the consummate homemaker.   Her love of family exemplified her life of giving and caring that she shared unconditionally with all of us.   Known to many simply as Nonna, she was our strength, and we will cherish the time and memories spent of our days together.  Sabatina loved to spend time in her garden and her labors there were a testament to the bountiful meals and sauces that she provided for family and friends.  She was a faithful member of the St. James Parish.  We miss her dearly, and treasure all the things that she did to help make our days so wonderful.   Nonna ti amiamo per sempre.

The family would like to thank PSW nurses Giselle, Margaret, Jas, and Christelle for their unwavering care and support provided to Sabatina over the past year.  In addition, a special thanks to Dr. Haroon and the nurses and staff at the ICU and 6C Center of the Oakville Trafalgar Hospital.

As per Sabatina's wishes, a private graveside service has been held.   In lieu of flowers, donations to Covenant House would be gratefully appreciated
