IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ruth Arlene
Losch
October 17, 1935 – November 29, 2023
Ruth Arlene (Anderson) Losch, of Oakville, Ontario, passed away on November 29, 2023 after a sudden decline in her health following a lengthy illness. Ruth was 88 years of age.
Ruth passed peacefully surrounded by her children Jeff (Catherine), Jody (Keith), Kirby (Leslie) and Carrie (Lawrence). Ruth is predeceased by her loving husband Bob, as well as her parents Maurice and Marjorie Anderson and brother Don of Regina, Saskatchewan. She will be greatly missed by her seven loving grandchildren – Nick, Chris, Sarah, Jessica, Ben, Steven and Gregory.
Born in Regina on October 17, 1935, the small-town girl known to all as "Andy" soon found herself in Vancouver where she met the love of her life, Bob. In 1958, they married in Toronto and moved to Montreal. After many years there, her travels included a three year stay in Munich, Germany where she embraced the Bavarian culture before retiring in Oakville, Ontario. Along the way, Ruth acquired many lifelong friends with whom she kept actively in touch with her entire life. Numerous summers were spent at the family cottage on Lake Memphremagog where Ruth raised her four young children. In later years, Ruth never passed up the chance to shop or go for lunch where she was a fixture on Oakville's main street. Nor did she pass up the opportunity to sit and chat and laugh with anyone whenever the occasion presented itself. Her sweet generosity of spirit, kindness and thoughtfulness were recognized and appreciated by all who knew her. She was devoted to making others feel better, often through her quick wit and unique sense of humour.
Ruth's love of animals and teddy bears was only surpassed by her pride and love for her children and grandchildren. She only aspired to be two things – the best mother in the world and an even better grandmother. And she achieved both. She will be greatly missed.
A private, family ceremony will be held for Ruth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Oakville & Milton District Humane Society and The Hospital for Sick Children .
