Obituary

Peacefully passed away in Oakville, ON to join his beloved wife Audrey (deceased 2009) on April 22, 2014 at the age of 95. He had a tremendous love for his family and was the cherished father of Roberta "Birdie" Whyte (Ron), Bernice "Bunny" (deceased 2012) Bradshaw (Don) and Judith Nestibo (Bryan) along with 5 grandchildren and 9 greatgrandchildren. Survived by 6 brothers and 3 sisters. He served in the Canadian Army from 1942-46. He then started his Fire Prevention career and served as the Saskatchewan Fire Commissioner from 1952-58. He organized that provinces's first Volunteer Fireman Training School. In 1958 he moved his family to Ottawa, ON and was appointed Dominion Fire Commissioner until his retirement in 1978. He served an active roll at Bethel Pentecostal Church and was President of the Building Committee for land purchase and construction of Asher Place Seniors' Residence. In 2009 Ross and Audrey joined their family in Oakville. A private family service will be held.
