Ross, beloved husband, friend and soul mate of Joan, proud father of Kirk (Elizabeth) and Christopher (Laura), loving and doting Poppa Ross to Allison and Sean, died suddenly Friday, November 23, 2007 while vacationing on Hilton Head Island South Carolina, USA. Predeceased by his father Gordon, is survived by his mother Dorothy, mother-in-law Olga Pistawka , sister Lynn Dobson (Tom); nieces Diana Luedke (Wilf) , Kristine Alexander (Greg), Debra Budweth (Alf) and their children Sarah, Anna, Madeline, Lauren, Olivia. Born, raised, educated and worked in Toronto. Ross earned his BA at the University of Toronto, became a Chartered Accountant and started his career with Clarkson and Gordon (Ernst & Young). He moved to the mining industry in 1969 working for Falconbridge and INCO Canada Limited in their tax departments . His priority in life was his family who will miss his company, advice and constant love. A life long sports enthusiast, Ross participated to the fullest in hockey, curling, skiing and recently became a study of the game of golf. Ross volunteered his time coaching minor hockey in Clarkson and most recently enjoyed giving his time at Wellspring Halton-Peel in Oakville. Ross will be sorely missed by everyone with whom he shared his joy of life.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital ,Wellspring Halton – Peel or the Canadian Cancer Society (Prostate Cancer Research) Visitation at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville from 2-4 and 7-9pm Friday, November 30, 2007. Funeral Mass 9:30am Saturday at St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, 1150 Monks Passage, Oakville.
