Rosemary Olive Seeton (nee Laing), beloved wife of the late John Ernest Seeton, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2024 at her residence in Oakville. She was born on December 14, 1939 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Rosemary moved to Canada in 1965, where she met John, and they were married in 1970. Together, they moved the family to Jamaica and Sudan before finally settling in Oakville.  As the kids grew, Rosemary took great pleasure in organizing canoeing, camping, and cross-country road trips for the whole family.

Latterly, Rosemary embraced travel to South Africa every year, exploring abroad, including road trips around the UK, US, southern and East Africa.

Rosemary charmed everyone she met with her curiosity, optimism and humour, believing there was no problem that couldn't be solved by a nice hot cup of tea. She will be remembered for her wit, kindness, and her stoicism especially in her long battle with multiple sclerosis.  Her adapted mobility and determination were an inspiration.

She was a devoted mother and was loved by her four sons, Richard Chalmers Seeton (wife Dimple Bhatia), Bruce Harold Seeton (partner Jessica Sexton), Ian Michael Seeton (wife Lori nee Beach), and Patrick Edward Seeton (partner Elizabeth Schauer). She was a loving and proud grandmother to Balen, Tayin, Wyatt, and Bowie.

Visitation will be held on Friday August 16 at 1 pm at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block East of Kerr Street).  A Memorial service will follow at 2 pm in the chapel.
