Born in Manchester U.K. July 12, 1921, Rosemary left us peacefully on January 16, 2011 in Stratford, ON, her four daughters at her side. Predeceased by her first husband Robin (Bob) Mason and her later companion Harold Pearson. She will be much missed by daughters Jacqueline Mason (Alex), Jane Mason (Tony), Mary Mason, and Robin Hale (Jeff), grandchildren Sarah Hees, Charlene Roche, Ian Small, and Nick and Calvin Hale. In England, her sister Alison Tovell (Steve), brother Captain John Wale (Jocelyn) and their daughter Alison May (Nick and children Sam and Alex). Her early British military life was spent growing up in India, Egypt and Northern Ireland. During WWII, Mum served as a nurse in the QAs (Unit 94), seeing service in North Africa. After the war, she was stationed in Germany and then went on to take nursing contracts in Basra (Persia) and Durban (South Africa). Immigrating to Canada in 1956 with her husband and young family, she involved herself with family life and the Anglican Church, also volunteering for many years with Oakville Trafalgar Hospital. We will miss the many stories of her life, her love of history, geography and politics, and the lively discussions that ensued.
