It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother & great-grandmother Rose Grace Porkolab on February 20 th at the age of 99. Rose was predeceased by her son Joseph & daughter-in-law Malve, all her sisters & brothers & special friend Lindsay. She was cherished and will be lovingly remembered by her son Ken, daughter Rosemarie Palinkas (George), Margaret & grandchildren Terri (Donn), Kathy (Bud), Debbie (Tom), Shelley (Chris), Kelly (Mark), Mark (Lori), Michael (Rhonda) & Michelle & great-grandchildren Jessica, Alexander, Brayden, Noah, Matthew, Charlotte, Madison, Hayley & Amber. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews & friends at the Oakville Senior Retirement Home.
Known affectionately as Toronto Nana, Rose lived a long life and touched countless hearts. She was a beautiful, giving, lady who loved nothing more than to have family and friends around her while she cooked all their favourite meals…heaven is lucky to have this angel among them and of course her famous donuts. We Love You Nana.
The family would like to express their thanks for the wonderful care of Dr. Kathy Slinger and the many nurses at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Crohn's Canada or a charity of your choice.
Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, (1 block east of Kerr Street) from 3-7pm on Thursday February 23, 2017. Funeral Mass will be held 11am Friday February 24, 2017 at St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church, 47 Reynolds Street, Oakville followed by a reception in the parish centre.
