IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald Keith
Ziegel
January 20, 1935 – June 5, 2021
Educator with the Halton Board of Education
Ron passed peacefully on Saturday June 5, 2021 at Amica Bronte Harbour. Predeceased by his beloved wife Beverley (March 27, 2020). Loving father of Rick (Mary), Jamie (Lora), and Trish (Roger). Loved grandfather of Tim, Katie (Adam), Megan, Jayson, Erica and Olivia. Loving Uncle to Dave Johnson (Regina). Predeceased by his sister Barbara. He will also be missed by his many Cronmiller relatives from Bev's side of the family.
Athlete. Coach. Musician. Entertainer. World class "whistler"! Cottage enthusiast. Lumberjack. Volunteer.
Ron lived a full life, from his upbringing in Pembroke, Ontario to his university years at Waterloo Lutheran, where he met the love of his life Bev, played varsity basketball and worked during the summers as the entertainment director on an Ontario cruise ship! Ron enjoyed a long career as a Phys-Ed Teacher, Vice Principal and Principal (Milton H.S., Blakelock H.S., Nelson H.S., Oakville Trafalgar H.S.) during which time he coached gymnastics, football, golf and basketball. Upon retirement, Ron spent almost two decades volunteering at Oakville's Fare Share Foodbank, where he worked tirelessly, lending his energy and leadership skills.
Throughout his entire busy life Ron also enjoyed summers at Calabogie, fishing, golfing and travelling with Bev, chain-sawing / chopping wood and leading singsongs at the piano or beside the fire. Ron's musical gift and sense of humour will be missed by all.
Ron loved life, loved his family and loved his friends and the feeling was always mutual.
A service of remembrance to celebrate Ron's life will be held at a later date. If desired, remembrances to the Oakville Fare Share Foodbank or Sleeping Children Around the World ( http://www.scaw.org/#scawhome ) would be appreciated.
