IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald Jack
Stevenson
February 25, 1935 – August 4, 2025
Passed peacefully, with his family by his side on Monday August 4, 2025 at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Born on Feb 25, 1935
Jack was predeceased by his parents Rosetta and John Stevenson and his life partner/best friend/wife Thelma (Cribar) Stevenson in 1997. Devoted father to Cindy (John) and Judy. Awesome grandfather to Matthew, Jeff, Evan and Drew. Loving brother to big sis Margaret (Peggy) Winn and his brother Bob Stevenson. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. A family man through and through Jack referred to his daughters as his two treasures and who was also the ultimate pillar of love & support in the lives of his four grandsons who adored him.
Throughout his career at Air Canada and after retirement Jack had the good fortune to be able to globe trot extensively with his family and then later as a couple with Thelma. Whether it was a carefully planned train tour through the Swiss Alps or a last minute - pack our bags and go to
Bermuda for the weekend, travel was enjoyed!
Jack was never one to turn down the challenge to play a good game of cards or a board game. He loved corny jokes and was moved by music. He was proud of his secret delicious meatball recipe that was shared with him by his father-in-law Grandpa Cribar. Anyone who knew Jack can attest to his love of all things sports especially his blessed and cursed Maple Leafs, and even more our winning Jays who are finally doing something this year! Didn't matter, rain or shine; win or lose Jack was the ultimate fan.
The real essence of Jack was his humble, generous and unpretentious nature. Ironically or not, his favorite Christmas movie It's A Wonderful Life which he watched at least once every year without fail depicts what Jack steadfastly stood for. The importance of family, friendship, community over greed, money and possessions.
Jack lived with many conditions in the last years of his life but he accepted his loss of mobility with amazing grace and dignity.
A private family service is scheduled with a celebration of life to follow in the coming months.
