IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald Maurice
Dubreuil
September 11, 1934 – June 28, 2024
Ronald Maurice Dubreuil of Oakville, Ontario passed away peacefully at Amica in Bronte on June 28th, 2024 at the age of 89 surrounded by loved ones.
He was predeceased by his parents, Fernand and Eileen (nee Jones) and his Brother Ralph of Lachine, Quebec. He is survived by his wife Pat (nee Scott), his 3 children Scott (Natalie), Tara Dubreuil-Pocrnic, and Sean (Sandra), and his grandchildren Samantha & Kali Pocrnic, and Seth & Bennett Dubreuil.
Ron was born in Lachine Quebec. He spent his youth competing with the local rowing club in Lachine, and skeet shooting with the local anglers and hunters club, and was an avid equestrian.
After graduating from high school, he enrolled in flight school at the Saint-Lazare airport, launching what would become a long and storied career in aviation. He was hired at the age of 18 as a copilot on the Douglas DC3 with Trans Canada Airlines, the airline that would later become Air Canada. With his career underway, he met the love of his life, Donna (Pat) Scott, his loving wife of 60 years. Over the ensuing decades, they raised a family, as he moved up through the ranks of Air Canada, landing a role in management as Chief Pilot on the Lockheed L1011. In 1983, he and Pat relocated their family to Oakville, Ontario from Beaconsfield, Quebec when he accepted a position as Captain on the Boeing 747, a role he held for the next 12 years until his retirement.
Ron was an avid skier, and spent the winter months with his family and friends at the Ste. Marguerite Ski Club in the Quebec Laurentians. Together, Ron and Pat shared their passion for golf at the Summerlea Golf and Country Club near Montreal, and were actively involved at the Oakville Golf Club for almost 40 years where they formed many life long friendships. Ron was a charming man with a warm smile, and he was always the life of the party. A long life, well lived.
