William Babensee
May 27, 1940 – November 19, 2024
Visitation and Service has been postponed due to illness. Please see revised dates below.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, whose life was marked by kindness, strength of character, and devotion to family. Bob passed away suddenly on November 19, 2024, at the age of 84. Devoted husband to Josephine for 58 years, loving father to Julia and Kristine (Mike). Proud grandfather to Eric (Katarina), Matthew, and Liam. Survived by his brother Alan (Audrey), sister-in-law Patricia, and deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents, his brother Dave, sister Ann (Tony) and nephews Peter and Steven.
Bob got his professional designation as a Chartered Accountant in 1968 and a few years later became a partner with BDO Dunwoody where he remained until his retirement. He continued to share his expertise being on the board of directors of various organizations, particularly in the areas of autism and environmental conservation. He was an impassioned golfer and proud to have achieved lifetime membership status at Credit Valley Golf and Country Club. Bob was also an avid cross-country skier, marathon runner, and outdoorsman. He loved and appreciated the beauty of nature that surrounded him in his daily life and he embarked on many adventurous and challenging canoe trips throughout northern Canada. In his later years he enjoyed doing pilates, yoga and playing bridge but his greatest passion and love was the time he spent with his family.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
