Bob lived life the way he wanted and he lived it to the fullest, passing away suddenly at the age of 94, on Sunday, August 18, 2013. Pre-deceased by his wife Elizabeth he leaves behind his children David (Peggy), Mary and Fr. John, his grandchildren Katie and Michael (Vanessa), and his great-grandchildren Launa and Teagan. Bob was born and raised in England and started his working-life at Vickers-Armstrong in Barrow-in-Furness. After WWII he immigrated to Hong Kong where he met, and married, Betty. They immigrated to Canada in 1954 and after stops in Montreal, Halifax, St. Johns and Ottawa they finally settled in Oakville to raise their family. An extremely creative and intelligent man, he made a significant impact on the many people he interacted with especially in his working life with the Canadian Coast Guard and Transport Canada. Bob will be dearly missed by those left behind. In lieu of flowers the family would like to request donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
