IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert (Bob/Bobby)
Maclean
July 5, 1945 – March 21, 2025
Robert (Bob/Bobby) MacLean
It is with great sadness that our family announces that Bob MacLean of Oakville, Ontario, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025 after a brief illness. He will be missed dearly by his wife, Margo (née Brown) of almost 54 years, as well as his daughters Andrea (Mark), Lindsay, and Gillian (Alisha). He was beloved Grandpa to Owen, Lily, Cameron, Foster, Josh, Trevor and Marshall, a dear brother to Nancy McLean, and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Bob was born and raised in Verdun, Quebec and was predeceased by his parents Robert and Pauline McLean, his sister Roberta Snow, and his son-in-law, Simon Oliver. He enjoyed many things in life, including travel, dining out, camping, fly-in fishing trips, golfing and owning his Jaguar. Bob was a great provider for the family that he loved, placing their comfort and security above all else. He was generally a quiet, steady presence who didn't seek the limelight but was happy to engage with those lucky to be in his presence, and was always willing to offer financial advice to those who sought it. He had a sharp wit and deep appreciation for a good laugh, often delivering his humour with perfect timing and an infectious smile. Bob's time spent volunteering with the Oakville Optimist Club gave him the opportunity to give back to the community.
Bob stoically accepted and managed living with MS for 30 years. In lieu of flowers, anyone who would like to make a donation in his memory can do so through the MS Society of Canada .
A celebration of Bob's life will be held on Friday, April 11 between 2:00-4:30pm at Harpers Landing (481 Cornwall Road, Oakville).
