Of Oakville, Ontario passed away on February 2, 2016 in his 84th year after a courageous battle with leukemia, with his family by his side. Sadly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Ruth (nee Anderson). Proud father of Jeff (Cathy), Jody (Keith), Kirby (Leslie) and Carrie (Lawrence). Beloved grandfather of Nicholas, Christopher, Sarah, Jessica, Ben, Steven and Gregory. Dear brother of Hilda. Born in Montreal and educated as an engineer at McGill University, Bob had a very successful career in the aircraft industry with Pratt & Whitney Canada for almost 40 years which took him around the world when travel was equal parts exotic and adventurous. For close to five decades, he'd spend his summers at his beloved cottage in Quebec's Eastern Townships where the later years saw him creating unique and fun games and pastimes for his visiting grandkids. Bob undertook his final challenge as he lived his whole life, with strength, courage and determination. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) from 7-9pm on Friday, February 5, 2016. A funeral service will be held at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, 47 Reynolds St., Oakville on Saturday, February 6th at 1pm. Private family interment at Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery. Friends are welcome to gather at the Kopriva Taylor Lounge immediately after the service where the family will join them for a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SickKids Foundation.
