Robert passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family.

Gone flying forever.

Loving husband to Christine.  Loving father to Tania, Oliver and son-in-law Anand.  Cherished Opa to Saskia, Katja and Noah, Brianna, Jayde and Jordan. Adored Opa to his great granddaughter Charlotte.

Robert was born in Arnhem, the Netherlands on May 18th 1937.  He immigrated to Canada at the age of 19. He is a longtime resident of Oakville, living and raising his family in the community since 1966.

Retired Air Canada Flight Service Director of 33 years.  He was seen on the face of many magazine covers, newspaper ads and TV commercials over the years as he pursued a side career in modeling.  In his later years he was a member of the Oakville and Milton District Real Estate Board.

Papa loved his work and to travel the world and to come home to his family and tell the tales of his adventures to beautiful foreign places, cultures and the people he met along the way. We were so lucky to see so much of the world with him and through his eyes. He had a great sense of Dutch humor, he loved animals and his garden and in later years his orchids, that he tended to with such care.

He will be always in our hearts and forever missed.

A celebration of his life will take place in the spring.
