Rita Baptista of Mallorytown, Ontario, passed away peacefully at Brockville General Hospital on Wednesday January 15 ^th 2020.

Rita was born on December 27 ^th , 1937 in Madalena, Pico, Azores to Clement Nunes DaRosa and Maria Madalena (Silva) Nunes Da Rosa.

She went on to marry Jose Francisco Baptista and moved to Oakville, Ontario where she had two children, Jose Manuel Baptista and Maria Olivia Baptista. Rita was a loving Grandmother to Serra and Amara Baptista.

Rita was predeceased by her parents her husband Jose and her daughter Maria Olivia as well as her brothers, Jose, Flor ê ncio, Manuel, Antonio and sister Maria. She is survived by son Jose, (Tracy), Granddaughters Serra and Amara and nieces, nephews and cousins throughout Canada, The Azores and United States.

Visitation at the Kopriva Taylor Community  Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville from 7-9 pm Sunday January 19, 2020.  Funeral Mass 11:00 am Monday January 20, 2020 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 2451 Old Bronte Road, Oakville. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington.
