It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved, Richard Walter Archer on January 17, 2025, at the age of 59, in his hometown of Oakville, Ontario.

Richard was born on June 10, 1965, to Maurice and Odette (Krickler) Archer, in Toronto, Ontario.

In his early years, Richard attended school at Appleby College and Oakville Trafalgar High School, where he graduated in 1984. As a sports-oriented individual, he competed at soccer and became a trained scuba diver. He travelled abroad on several occasions with his family, including living in England for a year. Richard went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with a minor in Biology, from University of Toronto, and later, attended Sheridan College for Graphic Design.

Richard was a lifelong learner, collector of books, and had a flair for written expression. He was a talented artist, who spent time experimenting with various mediums, including, water colour, acrylics and cork. He possessed a deep knowledge of plants and birds, and adopted the hobbies of bird watching and gardening. He developed keen interest in cycling and the mechanics of bicycles, while also a strong appreciation for gourmet food.

Richard led a humble life, and despite being faced with his own challenges navigating the world, he often found purpose in helping those less fortunate. While his circle was small, he held his family and few friends in high regard and close to heart.

Richard was predeceased by his brother, Robert Archer. He is survived by his parents Maurice and Odette; his sister, Marie-Louise, and Cesar (brother-in-law), and their children Julia and Jacob Gorinsky; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Andrew's church, in Oakville, Ontario, on Saturday, January 25 at 10:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the March of Dimes or Wildlife Preservation Canada.
