After a long and courageous fight, Richard passed away at the age of 95 on July 28th.

Born on July 14th 1929, Richard lived a full and rich life having left Germany in 1952 to pursue a new life in Canada.

In 1955 Richard met the love of his life, Marion Johnson of Port Arthur. They were married January 28th, 1956 and began a journey of almost six decades.

Richard had a successful career first with the Department of National Defense, then Amphenol Canada and finally Xerox Canada. Throughout his life learning was a calling. As well, he and Marion were devoted Lutherans engaged in all aspects of Epiphany Lutheran Church and later Grace Lutheran Church.

Richard was predeceased by Marion (Johnson), his parents Kurt Bauer and Martha (Goetz), sister Annemarie and brother Peter. He leaves behind three sons, Robert (Cathy), Philip (Sylvia) and John (Michelle) and four grandsons - Tristan, James, Dylan and Ryan, brothers Gunter and Helmut.

Visitation will be held on Thursday August 1, 2024 at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville, from 4 pm – 8 pm.  Funeral Service will be held on Friday August 2, 2024 at Epiphany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 20 Old Kingston Road, Scarborough at 11 am.  Interment will be held on Tuesday August 6, at Springcreek Cemetery, Mississauga.
