IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ralph Fisher
Mccormick
October 26, 1934 – August 11, 2022
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather & friend. Loving father to Susan, Laura, Ryan and Andrew (Laurie). Adored Zayde to Drew, Madison, Logan and Barrett.
He was born and raised in the town of Weston. Excelled in hockey and lacrosse and was offered a full scholarship to Colgate University in lacrosse.
In 1955, he started work as a Bell Installer in Toronto & Richmond Hill. Anyone who knew Ralph knew he wasn't "handy" so it's a miracle that those phones were installed and worked! He quickly climbed up the ladder in the company. Bell was a tremendous stepping stone for the tools he took with him into his business life.
In 1970, he left Bell and went to sell real estate with Haney Hunt & Bowden in Oakville. The company took Oakville by storm and he learned many valuable lessons along the way.
Three years later he opened his own company - McCormick & Assoc. The rest is history.
He married Heather (Gilmour) the love of his life in 1974 and with her encouragement and positive outlook they made a wonderful team. They went on to have two boys, Ryan & Andrew, who were the light of their lives.
Ralph was diagnosed with MS in 1981 and was determined that it wasn't going to slow him down. There were many things he wanted to do for his community and his family, but his energy only went so far.
He was past President of Rotary Oakville and received the Paul Harris award for his work in Rotary.
Ralph loved the game (and rules) of golf and travelled to many countries to play the game he loved. A member of the Oakville Golf Club for over 35 years, he met many good friends along the way.
Along with his 2 boys, he leaves his brother Jon (Judy), daughters Susan and Laura from his first marriage, and grandchildren Drew, Madison, Logan & Barrett, and many nieces and nephews.
A private interment will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider Kerr Street Mission , an organization that was very close to his heart, or the MS Society of Canada .
Love all, trust a few, do wrong to no one.
