Obituary

It is with great love and fond remembrance that the family of Priscilla Catherin Murray (nee Burns) announces her peaceful passing at the age of 92 on February 26, 2026. Born on March 4, 1934, in the village of St. Patrice de Beaurivage, Quebec, she was deeply proud of her Irish-Quebec heritage which shaped the warmth, wit and charm that defined her life.

In Montreal, she met and married the love of her life, Joseph Murray, with whom she shared a happy marriage of 64 years. They raised three children together, who remain forever grateful for their mother’s guidance, devotion and laughter-filled spirit.

A dedicated and well-loved employee at Sheridan College for 20 years, and active volunteer at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and Catholic Women’s League, she touched countless lives through her genuine interest in those around her. Priscilla’s love for music, games and good company filled her home with joy and laughter. She possessed a unique gift for friendship and a social nature that made her immensely popular wherever she went.

Priscilla is survived by her sister Loretta Wicklund of Sonoma, Ca., her loving children: Carolyn Collett (Geoff), Brian Murray (Charlene), and Craig Murray (Sally). She was the proud grandmother to Cailin Peters (James), Kendall Horton (Thomas), Lauren Kane (Nick), and Sarah MacKenzie (Jordan), and a doting great-grandmother to Lennon, Sadie, James, and Lily. Priscilla was predeceased by her brothers Joseph, Robert, James, Daniel, and Lionel, and sisters Violet and Lillian.

A Mass and celebration of Priscilla's life will be held on April 16, 2026, at 10:30 AM at St. Dominic Parish, located at 2415 Rebecca St., Oakville, ON. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Pandke and the staff at the OTMH Palliative Care Unit for their compassionate care during this difficult time.

Priscilla will be remembered always for her gracious heart, her sharp sense of fun and her unwavering capacity to bring people together. Her legacy lives on in her family, her many friends and countless others who had the privilege to share her life.
