Obituary
Pio passed away peacefully at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on Monday June 1st at the age of 89. Pio was born in Morsano al Tagliamento, Italy, the second youngest of 9. He is predeceased by his wife Sergia nee Vadori. Pio will be sadly missed by his loving children, Marzio, Albino and Ida, daughter in laws Wendy, Michele and son in law Andrew, as well as his grandchildren Paul, Nick, Lisa, Ashley, Sam, Connor and Emily. He is also survived by his adoring sister Angelina in Italy and by many nieces and nephews in Canada, Italy and Australia. Pio was admired for his work ethic, his welcoming home and devotion to faith, family, and friends. Pio will be missed my many. Many thanks to the staff and friends at Chartwell Residence and CCAC caregivers for their friendship and care.
Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Wednesday June 3, 2015. Funeral Mass 11:30 am Thursday June 4, 2015 at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 181 Sewell Drive, Oakville. Interment at Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery, Oakville followed by a reception at the Italian Club, 2026 Lower Baseline Road, Oakville.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorial donations in memory of Pio be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
